Your First Visit to Toothologie – A Smile Studio
At Toothologie, we treat every patient like family from the very first appointment. Dr. Jason Ford, Dr. Kyle Reynolds, and our team take the time to get to know you personally, answer your questions, and ensure you feel completely at ease. During your first visit, we’ll review your new patient and medical history forms, complete a comprehensive exam with digital X-rays, and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. We’ll also take time to discuss financial options, insurance coverage, and payment plans so you feel confident moving forward. Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and get the clarity you need. Our goal is simple: to make your first experience comfortable, informative, and the beginning of a healthier, more confident smile.
Step 1: Your Appointment

When you arrive, our friendly front desk team will greet you, help with check-in, verify insurance if needed, and notify your dental care team that you’re here. To make your visit even smoother, we encourage you to complete your new patient forms ahead of time using the link in your appointment confirmation email.
Once check-in is complete, a team member will guide you from the reception area to a comfortable private treatment room. During your visit, we’ll review your medical and dental history, talk through any concerns or goals you may have, and take digital X-rays to give us a clear picture of your teeth, jaw structure, and overall oral health.
Step 2: Your Exam

Once you’re settled into a treatment room, our team will review your dental and medical history, as well as any questions or concerns you may have. Using advanced technology like intraoral cameras, we can give you a detailed 3D view of your teeth and jaw, helping us make precise diagnoses and create a treatment plan tailored just for you.
Your comprehensive exam includes a careful evaluation of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health, along with digital X-rays for a complete picture. Afterward, we’ll sit down with you to review our findings, explain your options, and outline recommended treatments. Our goal is to keep you comfortable, informed, and confident as we work together toward your healthiest, brightest smile.
Step 3: Your Hygiene Visit

At your first visit, our dental team will complete a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth to better understand your oral health and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. In some cases, a cleaning may be provided during this appointment, while in others it may be scheduled for a follow-up visit.
As part of your care, our experienced hygienist will perform an oral cancer screening and carefully evaluate the health of your teeth and gums. If a cleaning is recommended, we’ll gently remove plaque and tartar using either traditional instruments or advanced water-powered technology. Before you leave, your hygienist will share personalized tips for maintaining healthy teeth and gums at home, helping you prevent issues like cavities and gum disease. Most hygiene visits take about 45 minutes, and you’ll head home with a fresh toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste to continue your routine with confidence.
New Patient FAQs
Yes! Toothologie accepts new patients and is often able to schedule appointments within a few weeks or even days. Your first visit will usually include an appointment with the doctor for a comprehensive exam and all necessary X-rays. During your new patient appointment, you can speak with our dentists about any specific trouble areas or concerns.
Please bring a photo ID, your dental insurance card (if applicable), and any completed new patient forms from your appointment confirmation email. Having this information ready helps us get you checked in quickly.
It depends on your oral health needs. Some patients will receive a cleaning during their first appointment, while others may require diagnostic exams or X-rays first. Your dentist will review your situation and determine the best approach.
Most first visits last about 60–90 minutes. This allows time for a thorough exam, X-rays, and a detailed discussion of your treatment plan. If a cleaning is included, it may extend the appointment slightly.
We are in-network with several major plans, including Dental Care Plus, Delta Premier, Anthem 300, Superior Dental Care, and Cigna. We also accept most other insurance providers and will file claims on your behalf to maximize your benefits.
